Drum and Bass: An electronic genre that emerged from the United Kingdom music scene in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (between 160–190 beats per minute (bpm); more recent tracks sit around 175 bpm), with heavy bass, and sub-bass lines.
